Cees Pijs

My professional ICT career started in 1986, after graduating from Wageningen University. I started my career in helping to bridge the gap between ICT technology and business and since I have felt very comfortable in this area.

Sometime in the early 90’s I picked up project management, first as a stand-in, soon with delivery responsibility. Furthermore I became involved in line management. Looking back I see myself constantly hopping between project and line-/interim-management. Some years ago I added program management to my CV. I enjoyed working in the European arena over the past years. Lately I am more Dutch oriented employed by Sogeti Netherlands with project and program management assignments in the Industry, Telecommunications and Utilities. Currently I am managing a team of project professionals.

I am a member of the PMI Netherlands chapter since 2008, first participated in the Program Management LIG and from 2009 serving the Board. My main objectives are to promote Project, Program and Portfolio Management as a true profession and PMI as a platform for the professional to meet, share, develop and enrich oneself. As President I am committed to growing the world of Project-, Program and Portfolio Management including the supporting PMO.
