Vision and Mission

Vision

The PMI Netherlands Chapter strongly supports the PMI global mission to promote the Project Management profession in all its aspects.

Mission

As a local Chapter we strive to implement this statement in a number of ways.

  1. Professional organization. The Chapter aspires to become the professional Project Management organization of choice for Dutch Project Managers.

  2. Certification. Professional certification, i.e., PMP, CAPM, PgMP, is a globally recognized quality mark that all our members should possess. We target at 75% of our members will be certified by 2011.

  3. Networking. The Chapter will facilitate knowledge sharing and networking by organizing suitable events. Members will help members. In 2011 all members who wish so will have a coach or mentor; that is our target.

  4. Benelux Day. A major annual event is a one day congress organized together with the PMI Belgium Chapter. Every year we will strive for more participants and more quality.

  5. PM Services. The Chapter will facilitate the provision of Project Management services, like e.g., legal advice and training. The Chapter will act as the guide; commercial companies will provide the services.

  6. Responsibility in society. The Chapter acknowledges its role in society at large. To provide advice and hands-on help in project management matters where requested and where possible.

  7. Brand image. The penetration of the Project Management Institute brands PMI and PMP within the Dutch community is not sufficient and must be enhanced. We target by 2011 that 80% of the advertisements for PM jobs will show one or both brands. These brands stand for quality.

  8. Standards in Dutch. The professional standards as published by PMI global are major assets of our organization for the profession. Their accessibility can be markedly enhanced in the Dutch speaking countries through translations into the Dutch language. The Chapter is endeavoring to translate the Program and Portfolio standards as a minimum.

  9. Membership. The Chapter wants to see 1000 members by 2011.
